In October 2001 Cwmaman Public Hall & Institute Ltd brought together individuals, voluntary groups, and public and private sector organisations in the community to work together to create a better future for the area by creating the Cwmaman Communities First Partnership Board.
Since its initial creation it has gone on to successfully secured core funding through the Welsh Assembly under the Communities First Programme, which is set to continue until March 07. Over this period of time the Institute has and will continue to be lead partner, providing fiscal and management support.
Following on from the Physical Mapping and Social Audits undertaken within the village to establish community priorities and need, the partnership board has gone onto create an Action Plan - Cwmaman Our Vision - Our Future for the period 2004 to 2014 which will:
"Over the next ten years aim to create a fair, just and thriving community for all free from disadvantage".
The Institute is committed to playing an integrated and leading role in the economic and social regeneration of the community of Cwmaman.
